This Christmas, I got to revel in some much needed family time. We planned to head up to SF for New Years Eve, but instead opted for some low key hang time in Santa Cruz. On New Years Day, my husband, daughter, and I drove up to Half Moon Bay, where we enjoyed some beers (my Sacrilege L'Ultima Crema was the bomb) and snacks at the new Sacrilege Brewery + Kitchen. After noticing some distinctly Pennsylvanian fare on the menu, such as perogies and pretzels, we learned that the owner and his visiting friend both hail from Pennsylvania, near where Dustin and I also grew up. Small world!
After filling our bellies, we headed back down Rt 1 to fly my daughter's new kite at Waddell Beach. The frigid wind was howling so hard it blew ocean foam across the beach in large clouds of white, but, despite the gold, we had a great time.
Hope you all had just as pleasant a New Year!
