why i do what i do
My job is so fun. Sometimes I have to pinch myself.
I never realized it was possible to look forward to Mondays until I started my photography business. After teaching for six years and working as an instructional designer for another six years, I realized that I couldn’t just “fit in” my passions during nights and weekends. I took a the plunge, left a secure job, and started my photography business. Suddenly I felt lighter and saw the infinite possibilities in the word. I feel so lucky to have found a career path that “sparks joy” (in the words of Marie Kondo).
My goal is to take pictures for you and your family that spark joy. Each moment that passes is a part of your life that you’ll never live again. I try to capture just a few of these moments so that you’ll always remember who you were, where you were, what you were doing for a moment in time. Sometimes the most innocuous moments turn into those that we treasure.
I love to photograph polished couples in dramatic settings, but in reality, that’s not how we live most of the time. I am just as happy to spend time in your home, documenting your family cooking a meal or having a picture in the back yard, as I am to choreograph a sunset shoot at the beach. My goal is always to make our session fun, light, and easy.
I am always up for new and interesting ideas for photo sessions. My goal is always to ensure that you are comfortable and enjoying yourself, regardless of where we are or what we are doing, and that I find the beauty in these moments that you may not even notice.
